Anthropic Revenue: $16.3 Billion in the First Half of 2026

October 30, 2026  |  Anthropic Stock News

Anthropic revenue was $16,286 million for the six months to June 30, 2026, according to its S-1. A year earlier the figure was $1,163 million. Full-year revenue was $4,585 million in 2025 and $386 million in 2024. The much larger run-rate figures in the news (more than $65 billion by the end of July 2026) measure something different.

How much revenue has Anthropic reported?

More in six months of 2026 than in the three previous years combined. Revenue was $41 million in 2023, $386 million in 2024, and $4,585 million in 2025 (all audited). The first half of 2026 brought in $16,286 million, about 14 times the $1,163 million reported for the first half of 2025. The 2026 and 2025 half-year figures are unaudited.

Anthropic revenue by period from the S-1

The first half of 2026 alone is more than three times the whole of 2025.

How fast is revenue growing now?

The S-1 says revenue grew 1,368% year over year in the three months to June 30, 2026. Its quarterly table puts second-quarter revenue at $11,555 million, up from $4,731 million in the first quarter. So the second quarter alone brought in more than twice the first. The filing leaves third-quarter revenue blank. But the Financial Times, Bloomberg, and Reuters all reported on or around October 14 that Anthropic told prospective investors it reached $16.8 billion.

What is run-rate revenue?

An annualized figure based on the most recent weeks of sales. The S-1 defines it as consumption-based fees for the trailing 28 days multiplied by 13, plus monthly subscription fees multiplied by 12. It measures the current pace of sales, not revenue already earned.

The run-rate figures Anthropic and the press have published in 2026 show how fast that pace moved:

Why are reported revenue and run-rate so far apart?

Because they cover different periods. Reported revenue adds up what Anthropic earned over six months, starting in January, when sales were running far lower. Run-rate takes the last four weeks and projects them over a full year. When sales grow this quickly, run-rate always lands well above the revenue already reported.

How productive is Anthropic's revenue base?

Highly productive, by the S-1's own measures. Trailing twelve-month revenue per employee was more than $6.6 million as of September 30, 2026, against $1.4 million a year earlier. Net revenue retention was approximately 900%. That measure excludes Claude Pro and Max subscribers. It means revenue from that group of existing customers was about nine times its level in the same quarter a year earlier. Our bull case for Anthropic covers what that growth could mean for the stock.

Which Anthropic revenue figure should investors watch?

The third quarter. The S-1 leaves it blank. And Reuters reported on October 15 that some investors had lowered their valuation expectations over slower revenue growth. The amended filing should show whether that slowdown is real and how large it is. Valuation discussions in the press have leaned on run-rate figures because they show the current pace. But the quarterly revenue in the S-1 and its amendments is the only filed reference. Our articles on what's in the S-1 and on Anthropic's valuation pick up from there.

Key takeaways
  • Anthropic reported $16.3 billion of revenue for the first half of 2026, about 14 times the same period a year earlier.
  • Run-rate revenue (more than $65 billion by the end of July) projects the last four weeks over a year. When growth is this fast it runs well above reported revenue.
  • Third-quarter revenue is the figure to watch. The S-1 leaves it blank, and press reports put it at $16.8 billion.
