ANT Stock Price: Why Pre-IPO Quotes Aren't the Price

October 30, 2026  |  Anthropic Stock News

There's no ANT stock price yet. ANT gets one only when Nasdaq opens the stock after the IPO prices. The Anthropic figures in circulation today come from three places. They're private round valuations, prices paid for stakes in pre-IPO funds, or the share prices of companies that own a piece of Anthropic. None of them is the price of a Class A share on Nasdaq.

Does Anthropic stock have a price today?

Not a public one. Anthropic's S-1, filed on October 26, 2026, leaves the price range blank, and the shares have never traded on an exchange. The first public price is the offering price in the final prospectus. The first market price comes from Nasdaq's opening cross on the first trading day. Our article on how the Anthropic IPO price range gets set covers the steps in between.

Where do the Anthropic prices seen online come from?

Mostly from three places.

Funding rounds. Anthropic's Series H in May 2026 raised $65 billion at a $965 billion post-money valuation. It values the whole company, agreed in a private round. It isn't a per-share quote.

Pre-IPO funds and special purpose vehicles. FINRA notes that buyers of these are "likely buying indirectly through a fund formed to acquire interests in the company." They own a slice of the fund. The fund owns the shares.

Listed companies that hold Anthropic stock. Amazon reports large Anthropic investments, but its share price reflects its whole business, with Anthropic as one part.

Why is a private price different from a public one?

Because a private round and a public market price different things. Private rounds usually sell preferred stock on negotiated terms to a small group. Amazon's filings describe its 2026 investments as "Series G nonvoting preferred stock" and "Series H nonvoting preferred stock." The IPO sells Class A common stock. And once it trades, orders on an exchange set the price every second the market is open.

When will the first real ANT stock price appear?

In two steps. The offering price is fixed at pricing and filed in the final prospectus within two business days. The first market price comes when Nasdaq runs its opening cross, which executes at the price that matches the most shares. For SpaceX in June 2026, those two numbers were $135 and $150.00.

Is a price quoted under ANT before the IPO real?

No. Until Nasdaq opens the stock, no exchange quote for ANT exists. FINRA also warns that a pre-IPO sale made without the company's approval "might be void," leaving the buyer without the stock. The SEC adds that a market for pre-IPO shares "may never develop." Our guide to buying Anthropic stock before the IPO covers what those offers are.

Which figure is most likely to be mistaken for a share price?

The $965 billion Series H valuation. It shows what investors paid for the company in May 2026. It isn't a quote. Reported IPO valuations of $1.5 trillion to $2 trillion are the same kind of number. They value the whole company, and they aren't a quote. Our article on Anthropic's valuation shows how those figures compare, and our Anthropic IPO tracker shows the status of the listing.

Key takeaways
  • ANT has no price until the IPO prices and Nasdaq opens the stock. Anything quoted before then is something else.
  • The figures in circulation are private valuations, pre-IPO fund prices, or the share prices of Anthropic's investors.
  • The first two real numbers are the offering price in the final prospectus and Nasdaq's opening price. They can differ.
