Wall Street Now Sees AMD Stock Hitting $500

May 13, 2026  |  Research Insights

AMD stock has skyrocketed higher recently. Over the last month, it has risen almost 80%1, leaving many other chip names – including Nvidia and Broadcom – in its dust. Wall Street analysts see the potential for further stock price upside, however. In recent weeks, many analysts have increased their price targets for AMD to $500 or higher.

Forecasts for AMD Stock

Since AMD’s Q1 earnings on May 5, more than 10 Wall Street firms have hiked their AMD price targets2 to $500 or above. We’ve listed some of the firms that are targeting this price level in the table below.

Note that some firms have price targets that are well above the $500 mark. Baird, for example, is targeting $625 (approx. 40% above the current share price).

Why is Wall Street Bullish on AMD?

As for why Wall Street is so bullish on AMD stock, there are a few reasons. One is that the company is seeing prolific growth in its Data Center segment thanks to its broad range of AI products. Here, revenue jumped 57% year-over-year in Q1 to $5.8 billion3. Thanks to this strong performance, total revenue for the quarter was up 38% year-over-year to $10.3 billion.

Another is that the company is well placed to benefit from the rising demand for CPUs. Right now, demand for CPUs is soaring amid the rollout of agentic AI applications (agentic AI requires CPUs for coordination). And AMD – which offers high-performance EPYC CPUs designed for data centers – is benefiting, selling its products to the likes of Amazon AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, and Meta. As the ratio of CPUs to GPUs in data centers compresses (towards 1:1), AMD should continue to see strong growth in its Data Center segment.

Can AMD Hit $500 in 2026?

It’s worth pointing out that there are no guarantees that AMD will hit $500 any time soon. After its recent rally, some profit taking is a possibility, especially now that the stock is trading on a P/E ratio in the 60s4.

The analyst community is generally very bullish on the chip stock, however. Despite its recent move higher, the majority of analysts4 have a buy rating on the name.
