When Is the Anthropic IPO? What Has to Happen First

October 30, 2026  |  Anthropic Stock News

There's no confirmed Anthropic IPO date yet. Anthropic filed its public S-1 with the SEC on October 26, 2026. It left the share count, the price range, and the prospectus date blank. Press reports put the listing in November 2026. The company hasn't announced a date.

Has Anthropic set an IPO date?

No. The filing says Anthropic has applied to list its Class A common stock on Nasdaq under the symbol ANT. But the cover page still reads "between $ and $" where the price range goes. Without a price range and an effective registration statement, there's no listing date.

The process is designed that way. Anthropic first submitted a draft S-1 privately on June 1, 2026. The public filing on October 26 ended that private stage, and the timing from here is the company's call.

Why is the Anthropic IPO date expected in November?

Three reports set the expectation. The Wall Street Journal reported on September 18 that Anthropic had pushed its timeline past October. The reason, it reported, was to show investors its third-quarter results first. Then on October 1, Bloomberg reported that marketing could start the week of November 9, with trading before Thanksgiving (November 26). On the day of the filing, the Journal reported a target of the week of November 16.

Neither date comes from Anthropic, and neither is in the S-1. They're the best public guide to timing until the company files an amended registration statement with a price range.

What's the earliest the roadshow can start?

November 10, 2026. A company that first files confidentially has to make its filing public at least 15 days before the roadshow starts. The roadshow is the marketing period when the banks take investor orders. Fifteen days after October 26 is Tuesday, November 10. It fits the Bloomberg report that marketing could start the week of November 9.

What could move the date?

Three things decide when ANT starts trading. The SEC has to finish its review and declare the registration statement effective. The banks have to see enough demand during the roadshow to price the deal. And market conditions have to hold, which Anthropic itself lists as a factor in its timing.

Reuters reported on October 15 that some investors were weighing a lower valuation because revenue growth had slowed. The legal steps don't change. But it's the kind of signal that can move the timing of a large deal.

How will investors know when the date is set?

Watch for an amended S-1 with a price range. The roadshow starts once that's out, and not before November 10, 15 days after the October 26 public filing. After pricing, Anthropic has to file its final prospectus with the SEC within two business days, and trading follows soon after. Our Anthropic IPO tracker logs each of those filings as they land. And our guide to the five steps between the S-1 and the first trade explains what each one means.

Key takeaways
  • No IPO date is set. The S-1 filed on October 26, 2026 leaves the price range and share count blank.
  • Reports put trading in the second half of November 2026, but the roadshow can't start before November 10.
  • The filing to watch is the amended S-1 with a price range. Until it lands, every date in circulation is a report, not a schedule.
