Anthropic Short & Leveraged ETFs Announced: Now What?
September 2, 2026 | Research Insights
Key Takeaways
Leverage Shares has filed for three single-stock ETFs linked to Anthropic: the 2x Long Anthropic Daily ETF (ANUU), the 2x Short Anthropic Daily ETF (ANDD), and the 1x Short Anthropic Daily ETF (ANSS).1
The Anthropic IPO timeline is still developing. Market reporting has pointed to a listing as soon as October 2026; however, nothing is confirmed at this stage.2
None of the three Leverage Shares funds is trading yet. They can only launch once Anthropic completes its IPO and its common stock is listed and begins trading on a public exchange.
Anthropic is looking more and more like a company on its way to Wall Street. It confidentially filed a draft registration statement with the SEC, it raised fresh capital at a valuation of around $965 billion and has become one of the most closely watched pre-IPO names in tech.2 When a high-profile IPO is expected, ETF issuers often move early to prepare products for launch as soon as trading begins. Leverage Shares is among the issuers that has now filed the necessary paperwork.1
Here is what has been announced, what the three tickers mean, and what investors need to know right now.
What Are Anthropic Leveraged and Inverse ETFs?
The Anthropic leveraged ETFs are exchange traded funds designed to provide either amplified or inverse daily exposure to Anthropic once the underlying shares are publicly traded.
The three announced products give investors three different ways to express a short term view on Anthropic: a bullish view through ANUU, a more aggressive bearish view through ANDD, and a non-leveraged bearish view through ANSS.
The arrival of these products is important because leveraged and inverse single stock ETFs have become a growing part of the US ETF market. Reuters reported in August 2026 that leveraged and inverse single stock ETFs had accounted for almost half of new ETF launches in June, although the rapid expansion of the sector has also raised questions about fund size, investor demand and product sustainability.4
Anthropic could be a particularly interesting underlying asset, because its expected public listing comes at a time of intense AI investment and heightened IPO activity.
What Are ANUU, ANDD, and ANSS?
Each of these three funds can be expected to target a different daily multiple of Anthropic stock performance, which is the key distinction to understand before looking at how the products work.

All three are single-stock ETFs. That is a different animal from a diversified fund that holds dozens of companies. A single-stock ETF lives and dies by one name, which means its price can move sharply on company-specific news, an earnings report, a product launch, a regulatory headline in a way a broad index fund never would.
What Does “2x” Mean for ANUU and ANDD?
“2x” means the fund aims to deliver double Anthropic stock performance on a single trading day. The fund resets this target every day, so it does not mean the fund will deliver double the performance of the stock over a week, month or year.
This is one of the most important things to understand about ANUU and ANDD, and it is also one of the easiest features of leveraged ETFs to misunderstand. Because the target resets every day, the fund rebalances its exposure each trading day to maintain 2x or -2x exposure to the daily return of the stock, rather than its performance over a longer period.5
Over a single day, the relationship is straightforward and easy to understand. Over multiple days, however, the daily returns compound, meaning the overall performance of the fund can end up very different from simply taking 2x the cumulative return of the stock. This difference can become significant especially when the stock moves sharply up and down for extended period of time.
Because these funds pursue a 2x daily target, holding them across many trading days, rather than a single session, changes the math. That is true of every leveraged single-stock ETF on the market, not something specific to Anthropic or Leverage Shares, and it's the reason these products are generally built for short trading periods rather than for long holding periods.6
Can You Buy ANUU, ANDD or ANSS Yet?
An announcement or regulatory filing should not be interpreted as confirmation that a fund is currently available for trading. None of the three funds is available to trade yet, because Anthropic itself has not completed its IPO. Leveraged and inverse single-stock ETFs cannot launch or begin operating until the underlying stock is actually listed and trading on a public exchange, since the fund needs a real, continuously priced security to track.
Right now, Anthropic is still a private company. It confidentially filed a draft registration statement with the SEC on June 1, 2026, shortly after closing a funding round that valued the company at roughly $965 billion.2 Reporting since then has pointed to a possible listing as soon as October 2026, though Anthropic has not confirmed a firm date, and IPO timelines for companies this size could change.4 Until Anthropic shares begin trading publicly, ANUU, ANDD and ANSS remain filed but not launched. Investors cannot trade the funds yet, and there is no market price or fund NAV available.
Investors need to confirm the actual listing and trading status of ANUU, ANDD and ANSS through the relevant exchange and official fund documentation before attempting to trade them. Additionally, the timing of Anthropic listing and the timing of Anthropic ETFs launch do not necessarily have to be identical.
What Happens Before ANUU, ANDD and ANSS Launch?
Between now and launch, the sequence is straightforward: Anthropic has to complete its IPO and list its common stock, and only then ANUU, ANDD, and ANSS can begin trading.
For investors tracking the launch, two things are worth watching: Anthropic IPO progress, including the pricing, listing exchange and confirmed trading date, and then Leverage Shares registration statement, which will provide the final prospectus, expense ratio and other fund details once they are finalized.
None of these details are confirmed yet.
