About Us

Leverage Shares’ mission is to democratise access to investing, both on a leveraged and non-leveraged basis.

Our Story

Leverage Shares started in 2017 to give active traders the precision tools they needed. Since then, we’ve grown into Europe’s largest single-stock ETP issuer, managing over $1.5 billion across 180+ products.

Our three businesses are: Leverage Shares for leveraged and inverse exposure, IncomeShares for options-based income, and a white label platform for partners building their own ETPs.

Our approach is straightforward: sophisticated strategies shouldn’t require institutional access. We make them available through liquid, transparent products anyone can trade.

José Carlos Gonzalez

Chief Executive Officer
José is the CEO and co-founder of Leverage Shares. He was also the co-founder and former director of Global X, a New York based provider of exchange traded funds. José was instrumental to the success of Global X, making the company a reference as a provider of exchange traded funds that nowadays has surpassed $10 billion in managed assets across more than 60 different products.

Throughout his career, José has acquired unique expertise in the asset management and brokerage business, having served in roles at Prudential Securities, MAPFRE Inversion, and Banco Santander. José earned his Bachelor’s degree from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.

Veselin Stefanov

Quantitative Analyst
Veselin joined Leverage Shares in 2022. He is responsible for developing and maintaining the trade mechanics behind the core products of Leverage Shares across all asset classes.

Veselin developed his professional and managerial career at UniCredit in Bulgaria for over 14 years. During that time, he worked closely with institutional clients, being responsible for the Custodian business, with corporate clients as business development manager of Global Transaction Banking, and with high net worth individuals, managing the private banking’s investment products.

He is a licensed investment advisor and professional trader.

Dobromir Kamburov

Chief Operating Officer
Dobromir is the COO and co-founder of Leverage Shares. He is a cross-discipline innovator with strong aptitude for strategically assessing, formulating, and solving technical & business challenges in finance, robotics, and big-data. Dobromir is result-driven with a taste for high-impact projects that cross multiple industries.

Having a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University, Dobromir has co-authored over 30 articles in experimental condensed-matter physics, published in Physical Review Letters, Physical Review B, and Applied Physics Letters. His scientific work explored the properties of two-dimensional (2D) electron and hole systems in GaAs/AlAs quantum wells at very low temperatures and in the presence of strong magnetic fields.

Dobromir’s research pioneered a method to directly probe the size of the Fermi contour of low-field carriers and their high-field composite fermion counterparts near half-filled Landau level with the goal of fundamentally understanding the effects of feminization and the underlying symmetries between electrons and holes.

Tracy Gilvarry Grant

General Counsel
Tracy Grant is the General Counsel and co-founder of Leverage Shares.

Tracy is a seasoned, goal-focused legal professional with demonstrated track record of advising and representing high-profile international corporations, international investment banking institutions, mutual funds and insurance companies.

Her experience is in providing incomparable advice on mutual funds, secured transactions, financing transactions, securities and regulatory compliance and corporate and commercial law.

José Poncela

Head of Product Development
Jose is a seasoned ETF and derivatives product developer and practitioner.

He is a founding member of WisdomTree Europe, where he served most recently as Head of ETNs. He launched a number of UCITS ETFs across asset classes and investment strategies and oversaw the ETN business, a European leader in the short & leveraged ETP space.

He earned an MBA from the London Business School and worked for investment banks like UBS and Nomura.

Pawel Uchman

Head of Capital Markets
Pawel Uchman serves as the Global Head of Capital Markets at Leverage Shares, having joined recently in July 2023.

With his expertise honed through nearly a decade in the ETP trading landscape, Pawel is responsible for shaping and implementing the firm’s product strategy, managing relationships with key market stakeholders, and helping investors navigate complex market environments by creating best-in-class products.

A Wharton Alum, prior to his current role, Pawel was a Senior Trader of the Automated Market Making Group at BNP Paribas, where he managed systematic HFT strategies.

Oktay Kavrak

Head of Communications and Strategy
Oktay joined Leverage Shares in late 2019. He is responsible for driving business growth by maintaining key relationships and developing sales activity across English-speaking markets.

He joined Leverage Shares from UniCredit, where he was a corporate relationship manager for multinationals. His previous experience is in corporate finance and fund administration at firms like IBM Bulgaria and DeGiro / FundShare.

Oktay holds a BA in Finance & Accounting and a post-graduate certificate in Entrepreneurship from Babson College. He is also a CFA charterholder.

Ignacio Vacchiano

Head of Distribution Iberia
Ignacio Vacchiano is the Head of Distribution Iberia for Leverage Shares, having joined the company in September 2023.

He came to Leverage Shares from Stifel Financial, where he was the Managing Director for Spain. Ignacio began his career at Stifel in 2006 as the Director of Institutional Equity Sales. During his time there, he played a key role in establishing Stifel’s institutional equity business in Spain. As the Managing Director of the Stifel Madrid Branch, Ignacio oversaw the transformation of Stifel’s presence in Spain and the EU, including markets such as the UK, Switzerland, Andorra, and Italy.

Prior to Stifel, Ignacio held institutional brokerage roles at Legg Mason, Prudential Securities, and Lehman Brothers, kickstarting his career in 1994. Ignacio holds a bachelor’s degree from Universidad Complutense de Madrid.

Raj Sheth

Sales & Business Development
Raj is Director for the Solutions business and joined Leverage Shares in 2020.Solutions works jointly with active funds and helps grow partner AUM via its European distribution.

Raj has extensive experience in Macro, Structured and ETF Sales, covering clients across EMEA. He has also worked recently to launch an AI-driven alternative data fintech, aimed at serving capital market participants.

Raj has earned a Masters from the LSE and IIFT.

Julian Manoilov

Senior Marketing Lead
Julian joined Leverage Shares in 2018 as part of the company’s primary expansion in Eastern Europe. He is responsible for web content and raising brand awareness.

Julian has been academically involved with economics, psychology, sociology, European politics & linguistics. He has experience in business development and marketing through business ventures of his own.

For Julian, Leverage Shares is an innovator in the field of finance & fintech, and he always looks forward with excitement to share the next big news with investors in the UK & Europe.

Sandeep Rao

Research
Sandeep joined Leverage Shares in September 2020. He leads research on existing and new product lines, asset classes, and strategies, with special emphasis on analysis of recent events and developments.

Sandeep has longstanding experience with financial markets. Starting with a Chicago-based hedge fund as a financial engineer, his career has spanned a variety of domains and organizations over a course of 8 years – from Barclays Capital’s Prime Services Division to (most recently) Nasdaq’s Index Research Team.

Sandeep holds an M.S. in Finance as well as an MBA from Illinois Institute of Technology Chicago.

Sandra Ivanova

Business Development
Sandra joined Leverage Shares in September 2021. She is leading the expansion of the company’s business into German-speaking markets.

Fluent in German and French, she has a solid background in sales and business development, having previously worked as a key account manager for a leading investment company, maintaining long-term relationships with clients.

Sandra holds a Bachelor’s degree in Regional Development and Politics along with a Master’s in National Security and Defence.

Stanislava Atanasova

Web and Graphic Designer
Stanislava joined Leveraged Shares in 2022 as a web and graphic designer. Her day-to-day role is based on further developing and improving the design of our website and its functionalities.

As a graduate with a first-class degree in BA Design at Lancaster University, she keeps exploring and expanding her skills in UX, UI design fields, and animation. Stanislava has experience in the areas of graphic design, branding, and web design for brands like Glamor, Eveline, All New Tech, and many more.

Konstantin Iakimov

Senior Designer
Konstantin joined Leverage Shares in 2023 as a Web Designer. He is responsible for developing and maintaining the company’s visual identity across the web.

Konstantin has extensive experience in graphic design, having worked on numerous websites, digital advertising materials, and printed collateral throughout his career.

His educational background includes Graphic Design and Digital Marketing.

Ana Borissova

Video editor
Ana joined Leverage Shares in 2023 as a video editor. She is responsible for the audiovisual content across all communication channels.

Prior to joining Leverage Shares, Ana worked as a video editor, field producer, and post-production director in major networks and production houses, such as bTV Media Group, Medium Station, and Camera Ltd., as well as the leading social media content producer Jellysmack.

Ana holds a Bachelor of Arts in Film Studies from Lancaster University, UK.

Todor Grigorov

Analyst
Todor joined Leverage Shares in 2021. He is responsible for quantitative development and trading analytics.

Prior to joining Leverage Shares, Todor has worked in an asset management company, the treasury and investment services division in a commercial bank, fin-tech company and European DMA broker. Todor holds an MSc degree in International Finance and Banking. He has been involved with quantitative research and data science projects and has a deep passion for the stock market and macroeconomics.

Bora Kim

Head of Asia
Bora joined Leverage Shares in March 2022. She is responsible for developing business activities across the Asian market and raising brand awareness.

Prior to Leverage Shares, she was a research assistant at POSTECH. The statistical skills she gained provided her with a solid foundation on which to build her technical background. She was also a co-founder/founder of three multinational startups in cryptocurrency and crowd-funding businesses.

She has a bachelor’s degree from South Korea with Summa Cum Laude.

Elena Polenova

Head of Human Resources
Elena joined Leverage Shares in 2025. She leads the HR function globally, overseeing all people-related operations across multiple regions. Her key responsibilities include talent acquisition, performance management, HR compliance, employee engagement, and the design and implementation of strategic people initiatives.

Elena brings over 15 years of HR leadership experience across fintech, private equity, multinational corporations, and UHNWI family offices.

She works closely with the executive team to align HR strategy with business priorities, support rapid team growth, and foster a culture of transparency, agility, and collaboration.

Yonko Yonkov

Social Media Manager
Yonko joined the team in early 2022. With more than 10 years of marketing experience and working on 50+ brands, he is currently orchestrating Leverage Shares’ social media presence.

Yonko spent most of his professional life marketing financial businesses, such as Trading 212 and Taxback.com. His agency background allowed him to work on many brands and diverse projects, significantly enriching his portfolio.

He holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Marketing.

Boyan Girginov

Research Analyst
Boyan joined Leverage Shares in late 2022. He is responsible for in-house research, technical analysis, product evaluation & content strategy.

He joined Leverage Shares from Invest Fund Management, where he was a portfolio manager and a board of directors’ member. He has previous experience as an equity analyst & trader.

Boyan holds a Masters in Banking and Finance from Queen Mary University of London.

Violeta Todorova

Senior Research
Violeta joined Leverage Shares in September 2022. She is responsible for conducting technical analysis, macro and equity research, providing valuable insights to help shape investment strategies for clients.

Prior to joining LS, Violeta worked at several high-profile investment firms in Australia, such as Tollhurst and Morgans Financial where she spent the past 12 years of her career.

Violeta is a certified market technician from the Australian Technical Analysts Association and holds a Post Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance and Investment from Kaplan Professional (FINSIA), Australia, where she was a lecturer for a number of years.

Sharon Murray

Corporate Paralegal
Sharon joined Leverage Shares in early 2023 as a Corporate Paralegal.

Prior to joining the Leverage Shares team, Sharon worked as a Paralegal for a number of years within a general practice law firm located in Ireland.

Sharon holds a Bachelor of Law and Business degree from the National University of Ireland, Galway. Following on from her undergraduate degree, she completed a Master’s in Strategy, Innovation and People Management.

George Georgiev

Compliance Associate
George joined Leverage Shares in 2023. With nearly 6 years of experience in legal and regulatory compliance roles, he plays a pivotal role in developing and implementing the company’s compliance strategy.

Prior to his current role, George worked for several regulated FinTech companies and the Bulgarian Financial Regulator, where he was responsible for Initial Public Offerings (IPOs), Tender Offers, and Special Purpose Vehicle licensing proceedings.

George holds a Master of Laws degree.

Ianek Georgiev

HR Manager
Ianek Georgiev joined the Leverage Shares in late 2023 as HR Manager. He is responsible for overseeing the company’s Human Resources across all locations, ensuring a seamless and productive work environment.

Before joining Leverage Shares, Ianek was a Lead Assistant Manager at EXL Service, where he spearheaded talent acquisition initiatives. With a proven track record in recruitment, he brings extensive experience from the BPO sector, previously working at HCL Tech and EXL Service.

Ianek graduated with a Bachelor of Business Economics.

Lyubo Enchev

HR Manager
Lyubo joined Leverage Shares in 2023. He is responsible for coordinating the company’s Crypto initiatives.

His previous work experience includes a $150m crypto venture capital fund, which allowed him to merge his expertise in investments with hands-on management. His particular focus on asset management has been shaped by his extensive background in the field.

Lyubo earned his MSc in Business and Finance from Amsterdam University and is an active CFA Charter holder, continuously bridging academic rigor with practical innovations in the ETP sector.

Viktoria Nikolova

Fund Accounting Manager
Viktoria joined Leverage Shares in early 2024. She is responsible for the correct maintenance of the fund accounting records and the accurate Net Asset Value calculations of all Leverage Shares products.

Viktoria has over five years of experience in financial accounting, fund administration, and financial reporting in one of the largest Fund services companies.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting and Control.

Georgi Bachvarov

Quantitative Analyst
Georgi joined Leverage Shares in the beginning of 2024. He is responsible for quantitative analysis and development as well as risk analytics.

He joined Leverage Shares from FactSet where he was a consultant in the Risk and Quant team and has prior experience as a trader at a proprietary trading firm.

Georgi holds a Bachelor in Economics, Law and Politics from IE University where he was awarded the Academic Excellence Scholarship. He is a CFA Charterholder as well as a deisgnated FRM and also holds an IB Diploma from the Anglo-American School of Sofia where he held a full scholarship for academic excellence and graduated as a valedictorian. Currently, Georgi is also pursuing a Master of Science degree at Imperial College London on a part-time basis.

Petar Kazandjiev

Operations Specialist

Petar joined Leverage Shares in May 2024, where he oversees product development, launches new products, and manages communications with exchanges and data providers to ensure seamless operations.

Prior to Leverage Shares, Petar worked at ACCURATE, a business development firm, as an account representative. In this role, he maintained strong client relationships, provided in-depth financial analysis, and offered strategic recommendations for continuous improvement.

Petar holds a master’s degree in finance and has completed internships with Allianz Bank and DSK Asset Management.

Ralitsa Valeva

HR Manager
Ralitsa joined Leverage Shares in 2024 as Human Resources Manager. She oversees HR operations, focusing on recruitment and strategic initiatives to enhance the organizational culture.

Ralitsa has a strong background in human resources, having previously held key roles at IT services and fintech companies. Her expertise is in multiple aspects of HR, including recruitment, learning and development, internal communications, and employee engagement.

Ralitsa views Leverage Shares as an industry innovator. She is passionate about contributing to the company’s growth and ensuring it attracts and retains top talent.

Zhenya Tsaneva

Graphic Designer
Zhenya joined Leverage Shares in May 2024 as a Graphic Designer, where she is responsible for the visual representation of the company across all communication channels.

Prior to joining Leverage Shares, Zhenya worked as a graphic designer and illustrator for a branding agency, where she specialized in developing visual brand identity for startups, with a strong focus on the fintech sector in Germany. She is interested in digital/web design, photography and illustration.

Zhenya holds a master’s degree in graphic design and visual communications from St. Cyril and St. Methodius University of Veliko Tarnovo.

Boris Gyuzelev

Equity Trader
Boris joined Leverage Shares in July 2025, where he is responsible for systematic-equity research, model monitoring, and trading analytics.

Prior to this, he completed an internship at an asset-management firm and at the Bulgarian Ministry of Economics and Trade, conducted financial-economics research at the University of Mannheim (where he is pursuing a BSc in Economics), and earned a place in the meritocracy of Germany’s only student-run hedge-fund initiative, where he developed algorithmic trading strategies.
